Phoenix Rising, anyone?

I'm killing time in the Atlanta airport en route to New Orleans for a rather extended Phoenix Rising-related visit. It's my first real vacation (inasmuch as long hours of volunteering can be considered vacation) in over a year, which makes me sad but mostly excited. Work has been wacky crazy insane for the last two months; I've been working on the same sweater (Wendy's Somewhat Cowl in this yumminess) since President's Day, knocking off a couple rows per day on my commute. I can't say I'm happy to be working so much or so hard -- big upgrades inevitably mean big investments of time -- but it'll get better eventually, and when it does, I'll be more productive with yarny things.

But I'm not really here to complain, because Alison's Charmed Knits, which may just be the coolest thing ever, came out this week. I think it's fabulous, and not just because some of my pieces are in it -- the patterns run the gamut from movie replicas to book-inspired stuff, and the book itself is gorgeous. (And I might've spent a bit of time at work flailing and showing it to coworkers who don't really care... but seeing your name in print is pretty awesome.)

Anyway, about to board now. I think I'll be at the knitting rendezvous at PR, so hopefully I can catch up with you guys then. If you see me, flag me down!

*Cry* Of course there was no publicity on the event here in "New Orleans West" (aka Lafayette) and now it's too late to register! Oh well, have fun for me!

Actually, we're doing registration at the door, both for the whole symposium (Thurs-Mon) or daily for Fri, Sat, and Sun. There's more info here. Come! It should be a blast (and I'm not just saying that ;))

I just bought Charmed Knits and was so excited to see your patterns in it! I just started a PoA scarf in Gryffindor colors. Next up: Hermione cable and bobble mittens. Thanks!

Aw crap, I was at PR and totally meant to keep an eye out for you. I would have loved to say hi.

Maybe next time. You planning on Terminus or some other such event?

Congrats on Charmed Knits, too.

I'll definitely be at Terminus -- bought my registration, and I also agreed to handling AV for the conference (since I sorta did it for PR anyway), so I'll be there. hopefully it will involve less running around than PR did, and I can actually make it to more events and meetups!

I too am a proud owner of Charmed Knits. I'm so glad that the Potter experience has enriched so many lives.

The gals at my lys looked on in awe as I pulled out my first year Hufflepuff scarf, made with your pattern. Oh well, too bad I'm now living in the desert southwest, perhaps I'l donate it.

Congradualtions on the book!
